Localization & Multi-language

ResponseDock supports multi-language surveys out of the box. The AI can translate surveys automatically.

Setup

1. Go to Workspace → Settings → Language and set the default language
2. Open a survey → Settings → Languages
3. Click + Add language
4. Translate manually or click Translate with AI

Translation Model

All respondent-facing fields support a translations map:

Fields That Are Translatable

• Survey title and description
• Page titles and descriptions
• Question labels, descriptions, and placeholders
• Answer options
• Status page titles and messages
• Thank-you screen title and message
• Follow-up email block text

Which Language Is Shown

• A survey always opens in its default language. The browser language is only used for the loading and error screens shown before the survey itself has loaded.
• When a survey has more than one language enabled, respondents get a language switcher on the survey page and can change language at any time without losing their answers.
• A host page that embeds the survey in an iframe can switch the language by posting a responsedock.command.locale.update command to the frame. The locale must be one of the survey's enabled languages; the frame confirms with a responsedock.lifecycle.locale_updated event.

AI Translation

In the editor, open the language panel and click Translate with AInext to a language. The AI translates all untranslated fields in a single operation.
