Creating a Survey

Questionnaires can be created manually, from a template, or generated by AI.

Manual Creation

  1. In the dashboard or embedded manager workspace, click New Questionnaire
  2. Enter a title and optional description
  3. Click Create manually
  4. You land in the Survey Builder

Survey Builder

The builder is designed to feel like editing a document.

  • Click + Add page to add a new page
  • Within a page, click + Add block to add questions, headings, text, dividers, or presentation images
  • Click any element to edit it inline
  • Drag the handle (⠿) to reorder blocks or pages
  • Changes are auto-saved after a short idle delay

Question Configuration

Click any question block to open its settings panel on the right. You can configure:

  • Label — the question text
  • Description — help text shown below the label
  • Required — whether respondents must answer
  • Options — for radio, checkbox, dropdown types
  • Validation rules — min/max for number, length for text, earliest/latest day (a date or "today") and an optional time of day for date questions
  • Placeholder — text hint for text inputs
  • Confidential — restrict the answer and uploaded files to the original survey author
  • Conditions — show, hide, require, enable, or disable content based on earlier answers

Inline AI Actions

Hover a question block and click the ✨ AI button to:

  • Improve wording
  • Make shorter / longer
  • Make more formal / friendly
  • Regenerate answer options
  • Add a follow-up question

Publishing

  1. Click Publish in the top bar
  2. Confirm — this creates Version 1 and sets the survey to online
  3. The survey is now accepting responses
ℹ️

Publishing a live survey while it's online will create a new version. Existing responses remain linked to the previous version. See Versioning.

Survey Settings

From the survey settings panel you can configure:

  • Anonymity mode (anonymous or identified)
  • Source tracking mode (none, basic, full)
  • Start and end dates
  • Default and supported languages
  • Theme / branding overrides
  • Survey banner URL and alternative text
  • Public read-only results page
  • Follow-up email consent block

Sharing and Results

Open QR / Link to copy the hosted link, configure an external URL on your own domain, or use its QR code. Enable Public results page only when anonymous, read-only analytics should be shareable. Authorized users can export responses as an Excel workbook from the response page or the embedded survey menu.
